The Nepal Geological Society (NGS) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Geological Society of America, one of the world’s leading professional organizations in the geosciences.
The MoU was officially signed on May 17, 2026 during the opening ceremony of the Penrose Conference on Mountain Hydrogeology, organized by the Geological Society of America in Dhulikhel. This agreement formally recognizes both organizations as associated/affiliated societies and marks an important milestone in strengthening academic, scientific, and professional cooperation between Nepal and the international geological community.
This collaboration is expected to promote the following:
• Academic and scientific exchange
• Joint professional activities and networking
• Knowledge sharing and capacity building
• International collaboration in geoscience research and education
