The webinar will focus on the general hydrogeological setup of Nepal Himalaya, the hydrogeological condition and groundwater exploitation in Gangetic Alluvial Plain and the mountainous region. The significance of hydrogeological assessment for the sustainability of groundwater resources, especially in the mountainous area will be dealt.

Brief Biography
Dinesh Pathak is an Associate Professor in Central Department of Geology, Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Kathmandu, Nepal. He is the life member of Nepal Geological Society and served as President (2013-2015) and General Secretary (2009-2011). He is also the life member of Nepal Hydrogeological Association (NHA). Dr. Pathak has been carrying out research in the field of hydrogeological assessment in a mountainous region and plain area; Natural hazard, especially landslide and flood; geomorphic evaluation for hydrogeological and landslide hazard assessment; Climate change projection leading to its impact in various sector, primarily in landslide and groundwater.
