Welcome Message from Convener

Dear Colleagues

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my pleasure to invite all the geoscientists, academicians, researchers and students from all over the world to attend the 10th Nepal Geological Congress from March 7-8, 2021 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The theme of this congress is Geosciences for Sustainable Development and Prosperity.

The main goal of the Nepal Geological Congress is to bring together, a multi-disciplinary group of geoscientists, academicians, engineers and students from all over the world to present and exchange their ideas relating to the geosciences. It also aims to promote the high level research, technology and innovations in order to globalize them through the presentations, meaningful discussions and collaboration based on the recent achievements and future needs in the field of geosciences.

10th Nepal Geological Congress hopes to discuss on the recent research and explore the possibility of technology transfer in the presence of experienced scientists, young researchers and energetic student communities. Since this conference covers all aspects of geosciences from very fundamental issue to practical application of the principle of geosciences, anyone interested in future progress of geosciences should not miss this important event.

We are all aware that currently there are restrictions on international travels on account of the pandemic outbreak of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), and we are continuously monitoring the situation. Based on this monitoring, we have to decide against the traditional physical   gathering of all the interested participants and delegates in a conference hall. As a result, we have decided that the 10th Nepal Geological Congress will be conducted virtually on the web based platform. In this context, the registration fee has been highly cut off and nominal fee will be applied to the participants. As we have successfully conducted the annual general meeting of the Nepal Geological Society and several other webinars virtually, we are capable of and experienced on this new technology. I am hopeful that we can organize this important event successfully with the support from all of you as usual.

We’re looking forward to an excellent meeting with the great scientists from different countries around the world and sharing modern technology, methodology, results and innovations in geosciences here in Kathmandu from March 7-8, 2021.

Yours Sincerely,

Subodh Dhakal, PhD
