    IDDR Workshop 2016 :28th October

    Call for Participation

    The International Day for Disaster Reduction (IDDR, formerly ISDR) symposium is one of the activities NGS has been observing regularly each year in collaboration with its partner organizations since decades ago. The IDDR is a day to celebrate how people and communities are reducing their exposure to disasters and raising awareness about the importance of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The UN designated date to celebrate the IDDR is October 13th, but we have decided to observe the event this year on October 28th because October 13th is just after the Dashain Festival. The theme of the 2016 IDDR is"Live to Tell: Reducing Global Disaster Mortality". In this context, NGS would like to request its members to send us relevant abstracts and give presentations on the IDDR symposium, and share your valuable knowledge and experience to raise awareness and reduce our exposure to disasters.  Papers on  areas of disaster are welcome. At this end, please note the timeline and venue below:


    Abstract submission deadline: October 21, 2016

    Workshop day: October 28, 2016 (10 a.m to 4 p.m)

    Venue: Nepal Tourism Board, Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu
