INTRODUCTION

(HEADING 1 title : TIMES NEW ROMAN, 11, BOLD, CAPSLOCK, Centre align)

Kathmandu valley is one of the intermontane basins that witnessed several devastating earthquakes in the past, e.g. earthquake of 1255, 1404, 1681, 1803, 1810, 1833, 1866, 1934, 1985, 2015 etc. (Pant, 2002). In case of Nepal Himalaya, few studies have been carried out to quantify the seismic hazard (e.g. Thapa and Wang, 2013; Baral et al., 2017; Stevens et al., 2018). Stevens et al. (2018) computed seismic hazard for Nepal considering both aerial and fault sources.  (Times of New Roman, 11, spacing 1.5) The citation of each paper should have the bibliography at the end of the paper on REFERENCE section. The reference should be chronologically arranged (Gansser, 1964; Prakash et al., 1980; Corvinus, 1993: Baral et al., 2015, 2017; Neupane et al,  2016).

METHODOLOGY

(HEADING 1 title : Times of New Roman, 11, BOLD, CAPSLOCK, Centre align)

Geological Mapping

[Subheading 1 title should be in Times New Roman, 11, Bold, Left align ]

The Himalaya is characterised by a fold-and-thrust belt that comprises of three major south verging thrust system, namely Main Frontal Thrust (MFT), Main Boundary Thrust (MBT) and Main Central Thrust (MCT) from south to north (Le Fort, 1975) (Fig. 1). (Times of New Roman, 11, spacing 1.5)

Main Central Thrust (MCT)

[Subheading 2 should be in Times New Roman, 11,  Italic, left align]

The Main Central Thrust separated the Lesser Himalaya and the Higher Himalaya and it is activated and re-activated. (Times  New Roman, 11, spacing 1.5)

Fig. 1: Figure caption should be in Times New Roman, 10, Bold. Each figure should be clearly labelled and should submit in editable format (on request) while publication.

Fig.2: Field photographs showing (a) sharp contact between quartzite and pegmatite at Azimpur (b) Sharp contact of pegmatite with granitic gneiss at Raghunathpura (c) Pegmatite contact with basic rock is seen at Raghunathpura (d) Blurred contact between granite and pegmatite at Narnaul is also observed.

Main Points to be followed

  1. Figure/photo should be of high quality (300 dpi) and editable
  2. Text inside the figure/photo should be at least 12 font.
  3. High resolution figure/photo should be submitted separately

Table 1: Table caption should be in Times New Roman, 10, Bold

There should be clearly marked the contribution from each authors to develop this work. (Times of New Roman, 11, spacing 1.5, justify).

  1. K. Biswas, M. S. Alam, and S.S. Ahmed proposed the current research as part of the Ph.D. research work of the first author P. K. Biswas. P. K. Biswas and M. N. Zaman conducted field work and sampling. P. K. Biswas and A.S.M. M. Hasan wrote the paper and prepared the figures following acquiesced data. M. S. Alam, S.S. Ahmed, and M.N. Zaman contributed the work with observations and comments in analyzing data and interpretation. All the authors discussed, reviewed and finalized the paper.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT (HEADING 1, TIMES NEW ROMAN, 11, BOLD, CAPSLOCK, Centre align)

Author should clearly mention the grant support, organization and people who have significantly contributed to carry out the research but not as the co-author. (Times New Roman, 11, spacing 1.5, justify).

REFERENCES (HEADING 1, TIMES NEW ROMAN, 12, BOLD, CAPSLOCK, Centre align)

Please ensure that every citation has been listed in the reference list and vice-versa. The text should be on Times of New Roman, 11, spacing 1.5. Personal communications are not recommended in the reference list, but may be mentioned in the text.

Reference style

Text: All citations in the text should refer to:

  2. Two authors: both authors’ names and the year of publication; (e.g. Baral, U. and Chamlagain, D., 2015)
  3. Three or more authors: first author’s name followed by “et al.” and the year of publication. Citations may be made directly (or parenthetically). Groups of references should be listed first alphabetically, then chronologically (Baral et al., 2019)
